  • To peruse investigation papers and relevant files in respect of trials of all public interest, high profile, complex and sensitive cases.
  • To study and consider representations made by defence counsel in respect of cases of public interest, high profile, complex and sensitive in nature.
  • To conduct trials of all public interest, high profile, complex and sensitive cases.
  • To provide legal advice to law enforcement agencies on all aspects to ensure adequate preparation of cases for trials.
 
Appeals Unit

  • To study all decisions of High Court and Court of Appeal and to consider whether to appeal against the said decisions.
  • To file the notice of appeal and the petition of appeal in the respective courts within the prescribed time under the law.
  • To conduct all criminal and civil appeals cases at the Court of Appeal and the Federal Court.

  • To undertake intelligence operations with a view to tracing Respondents for appeals in the Court of Appeal and Federal Court.
  • To liaise with the Police to enable service of Notices of Hearing in the Court of Appeal and Federal Court and the execution of Warrants of Arrest.
  • To conduct search of addresses of the judgment debtors owing the Government (judgment debtor summons will be served on the debtors by the Enforcement and Execution Unit of the Civil Division).
